Oldies but Goodies

Right now I have a headache that came out of no where and I took 2 extra strength back and body pills because I hope it would do something for a headache, but I was wrong. My body feels great, but my head feels like it is going to fall off.

So while having this headache, I put on some Ben folds and started looking at my old blog archive on Myspace. I found this blog that I posted in high school and I like it so much that I'm going to post it again here. So here it is.

So I have noticed...

That over the time that I have had a Myspace, people often post bulletins about love. People often post these bulletins in hopes often concealed with the hope of simply "getting some", while others are hoping to meet their high school sweet hearts.

I have often thought that this is very immature, and Myspace was doing a dis-service to America by allowing such immature bulletins to be tolerated. But recently I have come to a slight change of heart. Some of these kids posting these bulletins are really hoping to find someone who they can spend the rest of their life with.

Even in adulthood people still try to find a soul-mate online. Look at the advertisements we often see on Myspace for True Love dating services and Singlesnet.com. It obviously shows that no matter what the age is, people are always looking for love.

Sometimes people are looking for love online because they can't meet that person in their own lives, or they have given up hope on the one who they thought was "the one". Maybe it's because as human beings we are drawn to affection, and when we meet someone who is willing to give that, we are sitting with a knife and fork, ready to receive.

So I am writing this for you, The Underdog. This one is for you. Go for it. Don't wait for an open opportunity; it is never going to come. Take it now while you're doing nothing on a Friday Night. If you have a car, drive to this person's house and tell them in person. If you don't have a car, run walk or ride a bike. Tell them how you feel. If you live too far, call them. Just do it. Stop living with regret. Stop posting bulletins that say you like someone on your friend list and do something about it. I have faith in you.

Have a nice Rainy Sunday.

Business Law isn't that bad

So 2007 is over and I have finally started my spring '08 semester. I am enjoying a few of my classes already and I am hoping that I will learn a lot. Here is a break down of my classes thus far.

Geology 103/105L:
This is a decent class about the weather, so it isn't your traditional geology class. The professor for the lecture is a middle-aged guy who is kind of funny so it is really easy to pass the time in this class. The lab has a professor who seems kind of out of it.

Deaf 160(ASL 1):
This is my sign language class and I am so excited to learn an other language. Ever since I've met so many people involved in the Deaf studies program at CSUN, I wanted to learn ASL.

Math 103:
Sucks Balls...

Buisness Law 280:
This class I thought I was going to hate the most. I was terribly wrong. After the first lecture I saw some cool and interesting cases and I am already loving it. It almost makes me want to become a laywer... I'm not going to, but it looks interesting.

And that is my class breakdown this semester.

New Years 2007-08:
It was an ok New years. I played a show with an acoustic and a dream. The dream was not to get booed and it worked. It got some cheers. This is a lame blog. So here is a video for wasting your time.

Turkey Bowl 2007

Every Thanksgiving my dad's side of the family plays a "friendly" game of football. We call this glorious event, The Turkey Bowl(TB). It always starts of as a great game of comradery, and ends in injuries, broken hearts, and despair. This year was no exception.

It started off like every other TB. I wake up at 11:45 when the games starts at 12. I get there at 12:15 with the cones and hardly anyone is there on time. This includes my uncle Pablo who has the flags and the bottled waters. Uncle Pablo gets there around 12:45. We argue for a half hour about who is on who's team. We finally choose and put on our respective colored bibs. We start the game some where around 1:15.

Kick off and we already see everyone beginning to get winded, not from playing but from arguing about teams. 10 minutes into the game everyone is winded but I am still doing fine. I feel invincible. I am always on the line putting great pressure on the quarterback and blowing right pass my cousin. we will call him "Fish". Fish gets noticeably frustrated with me because I am taunting him every time I pass him.

Despite my greatest efforts however, we are down in touchdowns. My other cousin who is on my team, we will call him "Gogey", takes the ball and scores a touchdown which ties the game. And he decides to celebrate by throwing up his combination of red bull and redline on the field(side not: none of those liquids are red, and they come out orange in puke).

We get the ball back later in the game and we throw an interception. I turn to get the flag from the one who caught the ball. As I turn I see a shadow cast over me. As I finish the turn I am greeted with a friendly elbow to the face. I fly back and roll twice. I look up and there is Fish, glowing in his triumph. I deserved it.

Overall, it was a great TB.

I've been a terrible blogger of late

So it was pointed out to me that I haven't been blogging much lately, so I thought I'd write another blog for old times sake.

The past few weekends have been really good. I have come to realize that I some some amazing friends in Northridge. I know it might be cliché to say but I do love them. My friends have been good to me and have showed my some, as my uncle would say, "good times".

I can't say anything else because I shouldn't.

The WGA Conversation

So recently the Writers Guild of America went on strike. I myself am totally in favor of the writers, because they are the creative minds behind our television shows, and with out them, we would be left with crappy reality TV shows like the Hills and Laguna Beach.

I recently had a discussion with someone over Myspace about the strike, and instead of re-writing it(because I am lazy), I'll just post it as it was written. I am not mad at the person who replied to my message. Now with saying that, here it is.

For the Writers Guild to get everything they want, and them some. So new episodes of "The Office", "Scrubs", and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" can begin shooting again. If they don't then "Scrubs" will be off the air forever. And that is no good.

oh heck no
they want more money
and, as ridiculous as it is of me to say this considering what i want to be, the media does NOT need to pay their employees/members anymore...at ALL.

its disgusting how much money these people already make, and now they're striking for more...a freaking DOG in hollywood makes more money than a damn doctor, firefighter, or scientist. BRITTNEY SPEARS, who doesnt even DO ANYTHING, makes more money...

lol sorry for the vent. ic ould care less about the tv shows, i say pay our damn TEACHERS more...

Now you see I'm talking about the writers, who only get paid a very small amount ONCE for writing an episode. Every time someone buys a dvd of a TV show, the writers don't see a dime. Every time someone buys an episode off of iTunes, the writers don't see a dime. And every time someone watches an episode on the TV shows website (i.e. nbc.com, abc.com...), they don't see a dime. Even though the companies like NBC and ABC make Tons of money from all of those things. All the writer's guild wants is 11 cents from DVD sales. 11 CENTS!!! That is the only amount they want from dvd sales. From iTunes, on 3 cents. This is a very small amount. Sure, they make money from re-runs on TV shows, but did you know that lost is never re-run on TV. They only show re-runs online. Meaning the writers for a very successful television drama only get paid a small sum for 1 television airing. Their creation is seen among millions, over and over again and they don't get to see the profits. Writers are the most under paid for their positions. They do deserve money from DVD sales, iTunes sales, and online viewing. Considering that is where the future of entertainment is going.

Basically the fact is this. They are creating something for our enjoyment. And it would be totally unfair for them to not get compensated fairly.

So this weekend before Halloween my friend Amber invited us to Garden Grove because, as she put it, "Parties in the OC are way better". I was on my way back from Santa Barbra because I was visiting a friend who goes to UCSB when I decided to pick up Carol from Oxnard(about 45 min away from Santa Barbra) and head back to the Valley. We were trying to make a game plan for the night when we get the text from Amber. I am tired, I just got done walking around the SB and I just want to sleep. But we still have an hour to get to the Valley, which means Carol easily broke me and I agreed to go.

Now the OC party was a costume party and I didn't have a costume. So in a quick effort I went to CVS and bought note cards, tape, and a Christmas bow. Some of you might think I went as a gift, but I had a better idea. I used one note card to make a tag. The tag said "From God, To Women". I had the best costume.

That is right, I was God's gift to women. Complete with broken black rimmed glasses, messed up button up shirt, and a stutter.

But I would be lying if I said I came up with the idea myself. I have to give credit to Tucker Max on this one.

So complete with with costume, Carol, Adriana, and I left for Garden Grove. When we got there we met up with Amber and her friend Danielle. The costume was a sucess. Women loved me, men hated me, and trannies were confused.
