Every Thanksgiving my dad's side of the family plays a "friendly" game of football. We call this glorious event, The Turkey Bowl(TB). It always starts of as a great game of comradery, and ends in injuries, broken hearts, and despair. This year was no exception.
It started off like every other TB. I wake up at 11:45 when the games starts at 12. I get there at 12:15 with the cones and hardly anyone is there on time. This includes my uncle Pablo who has the flags and the bottled waters. Uncle Pablo gets there around 12:45. We argue for a half hour about who is on who's team. We finally choose and put on our respective colored bibs. We start the game some where around 1:15.
Kick off and we already see everyone beginning to get winded, not from playing but from arguing about teams. 10 minutes into the game everyone is winded but I am still doing fine. I feel invincible. I am always on the line putting great pressure on the quarterback and blowing right pass my cousin. we will call him "Fish". Fish gets noticeably frustrated with me because I am taunting him every time I pass him.
Despite my greatest efforts however, we are down in touchdowns. My other cousin who is on my team, we will call him "Gogey", takes the ball and scores a touchdown which ties the game. And he decides to celebrate by throwing up his combination of red bull and redline on the field(side not: none of those liquids are red, and they come out orange in puke).
We get the ball back later in the game and we throw an interception. I turn to get the flag from the one who caught the ball. As I turn I see a shadow cast over me. As I finish the turn I am greeted with a friendly elbow to the face. I fly back and roll twice. I look up and there is Fish, glowing in his triumph. I deserved it.
Overall, it was a great TB.

I've been a terrible blogger of late
So it was pointed out to me that I haven't been blogging much lately, so I thought I'd write another blog for old times sake.
The past few weekends have been really good. I have come to realize that I some some amazing friends in Northridge. I know it might be cliché to say but I do love them. My friends have been good to me and have showed my some, as my uncle would say, "good times".
I can't say anything else because I shouldn't.

The WGA Conversation
So recently the Writers Guild of America went on strike. I myself am totally in favor of the writers, because they are the creative minds behind our television shows, and with out them, we would be left with crappy reality TV shows like the Hills and Laguna Beach.
I recently had a discussion with someone over Myspace about the strike, and instead of re-writing it(because I am lazy), I'll just post it as it was written. I am not mad at the person who replied to my message. Now with saying that, here it is.

For the Writers Guild to get everything they want, and them some. So new episodes of "The Office", "Scrubs", and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" can begin shooting again. If they don't then "Scrubs" will be off the air forever. And that is no good.

Now you see I'm talking about the writers, who only get paid a very small amount ONCE for writing an episode. Every time someone buys a dvd of a TV show, the writers don't see a dime. Every time someone buys an episode off of iTunes, the writers don't see a dime. And every time someone watches an episode on the TV shows website (i.e. nbc.com, abc.com...), they don't see a dime. Even though the companies like NBC and ABC make Tons of money from all of those things. All the writer's guild wants is 11 cents from DVD sales. 11 CENTS!!! That is the only amount they want from dvd sales. From iTunes, on 3 cents. This is a very small amount. Sure, they make money from re-runs on TV shows, but did you know that lost is never re-run on TV. They only show re-runs online. Meaning the writers for a very successful television drama only get paid a small sum for 1 television airing. Their creation is seen among millions, over and over again and they don't get to see the profits. Writers are the most under paid for their positions. They do deserve money from DVD sales, iTunes sales, and online viewing. Considering that is where the future of entertainment is going.
Basically the fact is this. They are creating something for our enjoyment. And it would be totally unfair for them to not get compensated fairly.
